Employee Wellness

Mission Statement

To ensure all University of Pittsburgh and Department of Medicine staff have a career that is interesting, enjoyable, meaningful, and contributes to the larger society by focusing on system and individual strengths and opportunities. We plan to enhance the overall mental, physical, and emotional health of our teams by ensuring that employees have the tools, confidence, and empowerment to be the best versions of themselves in and out of work.

Wellness Walk Wednesdays

UPMC and Pitt’s Department of Medicine launched an employee-run People First initiative that seeks to listen to and respond to the needs of its staff. One of the agendas is to focus on employee wellness. Within that wellness focus, one of our first initiatives is to start gathering some energy and involvement around a “Wellness Walk Wednesday.”

The goal is to encourage you to take a break from your work, get some movement in, and meet others who want to do the same thing so we can all help keep each other accountable weekly!

We encourage virtual/satellite participation! The goal is to get out and walk, even for 5 minutes with a colleague or on your own, whether you are in Oakland or working from home!

Join us for our next Wellness Walk meetup!
